Back a couple of weeks ago we got a huge (at least huge for Western WA) snow storm. It threw me off my game. I still feel like I’m trying to get my feet back under me. We were without power and it felt like the kids were never going to go back to school.
We still have piles of snow in random places and where the fields stay shady there is a sheet of crusty snow. Today there is sun but it’s still cold outside. I’m longing for Spring and warmth. So, today I looked back through my April photos from the past years. Tulips bring such beautiful color to this area and they come up fairly early with the promise of warmer weather and sunshine.
This series of photos was from a local nursery and tulip farm. I had a friend had asked if I would help her learn how to use her DSLR camera so we spent the day talking camera settings and taking photos of the beautiful scenery.

I loved this statue. This is St. Francis of Assisi, known as the patron saint of animals. During my childhood, and oftentimes during my adulthood, I would find and keep random animals. My mom often joked that my favorite thing to say was, “it followed me home. Can I keep it?” Dogs, cats, snakes, chipmunks, squirrels, the list goes on. When I came upon this statue I knew I needed a photo!

The tulip colors are so vibrant and lush.Don’t the mixed color tulips look like bands of confetti?
By the window, that is where I’ll be
Come tiptoe through the tulips with me
By the garden of the willow tree
And tiptoe through the tulips with me
We’ll keep the showers away
And if I kiss you in the garden, in the moonlight
Will you pardon me?
And tiptoe through the tulips with me
We’ll keep the showers away
And if I kiss you in the garden, in the moonlight
Will you pardon me?
And tiptoe through the tulips with me

I hope you enjoyed this little preview of Spring. I really hope Punxsutawney Phil was right and Spring is just around the corner!!!
